The Dreadful (2026)
In fifteenth-century England, Anne lives with her mother-in-law Morwen on the edge of society, trapped between poverty, war, and the heavy wait for a husband who may never return. The Dreadful does not let fear arrive as a simple curse; it seeps in through hunger, isolation, and the suspicions growing inside the house. When Jago, a man from the family’s past, returns, his presence opens a dangerous space between desire, guilt, and jealousy, while the image of a mysterious knight suggests that the past has found a frightening shape of its own. The film plays as slow Gothic folk horror about superstition, faith, survival, and the possibility that the monster was inside the home all along.
